Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training

(Regulated Qualification)

The Certificate in Education and Training consists of six units which are delivered by your programme coach, face to face or live online, where you will obtain the knowledge, research skills, and reading needed to complete each assignment. Resources have been designed to take you through each step of the programme in a logical way.

Target Audience: 

• Individuals who are not currently teaching and training but who can meet the teaching practice requirements of 30 hours teaching in their subject specialism

• Individuals who are currently teaching and training (including those who have just started teaching and training) who can meet the practice requirements of 30 hours teaching in their subject specialism

• Individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a teaching qualification

The qualification consists of six units:

• Unit One - Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training

• Unit Two - Planning to meet the needs of learners in education and training

• Unit Three - Delivering education and training

• Unit Four - Assessing learners in education and training

• Unit Five - Using resources for education and training

• Unit Six - The selection of an optional unit which can be discussed with your programme coach

Recognition of Prior Learning

There is no requirement for learners to complete the Level 3 Award in Education and Training prior to commencing this qualification. However, if a learner has achieved the level 3 unit: ‘Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training’, they do not need to take this unit as part of the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.
